The Lunar New Year in 2025 falls on January 29, marking the beginning of the Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac. Symbolizing wisdom, transformation, and renewal, the snake is the sixth animal in the zodiac cycle. To celebrate this auspicious start to 2025, I’m excited to share a free crochet pattern called “Snooky the Lucky Snake.” This design not only honors the year’s zodiac animal but also sets the tone for a creative and lucky year ahead. As a fun project for the year, I plan to release crochet patterns inspired by all 12 Chinese zodiac animals: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Trim the 2 ends at the tongue to length, and weave in any other ends.
Joining the Parts
- Sew body to head
- Create the bends of the body
- Make the forked tongue
- Sew craft eyes onto the face (or install craft eyes with safety backs per instruction)
