The Inspiration Behind The Honeycomb Embroidery Earrings
Today, I want to share the cute little story that inspired my one-of-a-kind honeycomb embroidery earrings. It all began in 2017 when I was living in Denmark and created a heart-shaped stitched charm for my then-boyfriend, now husband. Little did I know that the small gesture would become the foundation for something even more special – my honeycomb embroidery earrings.
Rediscovering the Memory Box
I was digging through the box my husband fondly calls “the memory box.” Inside were all the little knick-knacks I had sent him during our long-distance relationship. Among them, I found the tiny charm I had made for him – a reminder of our love’s journey.
From Geometric to Honeycomb
Originally, my design for the earrings was simple and geometric, not honeycomb. But as I thought about it, I realized that honeycombs are, in fact, geometric wonders of nature. Their intricate patterns and perfect symmetry captured my imagination.
Adding Vibrant Colors
As someone who prefers neutral-colored clothes (hello, grey!), I adore accessories with vibrant colors. So, I decided to embroider each honeycomb cell with different colors and hues, creating a kaleidoscope of joy that complements any outfit.
The Craftsmanship
The embroidered area measures a dainty 16mm in diameter, making it smaller than the pendant itself (which measures 25mm). Each stitch is made with love, and every earring is a testament to the time and care invested in crafting it.
